I wasn't sure whether to have this as a Mindfulness Monthly Minikit, or Warhammer Wednesday, especially as this isnt an official GW project. But it was cheap, and it was fun and silly, so that's all my boxes ticked for a little project.
This little thing came from the wonderful Porthmadog Models. I love this shop, a proper Aladdin's Cave of kits, including some old rarities. I'd have had many a holiday project sunk without the shop to nip to for glue, paint, plasticard, and whole kits these last ten years. There were loads of these Fake Lego figures and vehicles in the window display, and whilst I was there picking up bits for the Stingray shoot in the summer, I couldn't resist picking this up.
It's quite simple, parts-wise. Mine came ready made, but I dismantled it for the fun of rebuilding it (no instructions mindyou).
The parts were uniformly well-moulded in very good quality plastic, no flash, and went together well.
Some thought's gone into the design too, for things like the posable control yoke.
It feels wrong to descrive a Grimdark superhuman supersoldier as 'Cute', but here we are.
Characterful, but captures the look of a proper Marine.
For the Emperor!
Finished kit. A nice quick build.
OK so it will only ever sit on the desk (though the idea of playing Kill Team or something with these is oddly appealing).
I have to be in the right mood for Warhammer at the moment, given how busy I am with other work, but this was a short, sharp, and enjoyable little build. Maybe for the next instalment I'll get around to the Thunderbolts or the Titans I picked up in the summer, but for now, this little chap can hold the metaphorical line.
